Love Life, Love the Lyrics I: One Night Stand By Morayo Oshodi

If the grade "A" was really easy why didn't we all get an A in further maths? well maybe you did but I never did, I was the C student and yes I was comfortable with that :p well don't think me lazy because I have my passions hehehehe one of it is observing people and writing about them and getting to know how to help! Motivation, Motivation!! Motivation!!! - like hey babes stay away from that guy he is good for nothing or this guy likes you and I think you should give him a chance to prove his love, why don't you take that risk after all life is all about the risks we take.... Blahblahblah. In this episode I will leave you with a special lyrics from a very special artiste who I featured in this post. This blog post will encourage you to love yourself first, before you love someone else.

She is one of the most friendly, daring and adventurous person I have ever met. Sometimes when she talks I wonder what planet she is from perhaps she Oh! - yes that Boov in the movie Home. She is very daring even at work she is a fast learner always wanted to be involved in everything. Perhaps this didn't go down well with others around her especially her female counter parts - she always got the attention of every guy even the CEO. She is often tag by guys as someone who would never take anything serious because she had everything she wanted at her beck and call. Her parents are wealthy and she always drove an SUV to work. I remember the pool party we had... Anne ...oh! My bad did I tell you her name is Anne well if you like you can say that she is as bold as Annie unfortunately she was too easy around guys.

After work we all headed to La Mango a club on Isaac John GRA, loud music welcomed us with an airplay of  Gyptian's Hold Yo . We just concluded the Black Friday sales a few weeks to Christmas and of course this was the best way to relax, after a long week of work pushing for sales and all. Everyone was in the mood to party hard . There was a lot of drinks and load of food to eat. Anne was so groovy that night jumping from one guys laps to another, yea she was like a rose among thorns. Her skin glowing in the dark like honey, her dress ravishing and breath-taking everyone wondered where she did her shopping she'd just call the name of one e-commerce site we all start searching to no avail.

I was closer to her than any other person in the office because she was my childhood friend, we went to the same secondary school and here we are again as colleagues in the same office. My house was a stone throw away from Anne's house. Anne and I sat at the same table sipping Margarita when all of a sudden one tall dark and handsome guy approached us. I recognised him from the fashion team in the office, he was new from a rival company. He sounded very nice and before I could take another sip Anne disappeared with him.

                                                     ***************

Two o' clock in the morning my phone rang, still a little sleepy I heard Anne crying on the other end of the phone as she was trying to mutter something between her tears, this was the song that came to my mind How To Love By Lil Wayne and the lyrics.

In the next episode of this series, I shall introduce you to other characters Kenny, Fifi, Lolu and Anjola. For more stories on Love Life, Love the Lyrics stay tuned.

Tribal Marks Our Cultural Heritage

Tribal marks are an age-long art common to the Western part of Nigeria. The Egba, Nupe, Ilaje and other Yoruba tribes commonly use these marks and designs as a form of identification, beautification and protection. There are two different types of marks:  ila (the well-known facial scars) and  ona  (also known as “local tattoos”). Both are created using a sharp instrument such as razor blades, knives or glass. Flesh is cut from the skin to create a gash, which later heals and leaves a permanent pattern on the body. Snails (known as  Igbin  in Yoruba), a popular delicacy in Nigeria, are very important to tribal mark artisans, as the liquid they secrete is used to soothe the pain caused by the instrument used to make the incisions. The unique colour of the  ona  comes from various pigments such as charcoal. Tribal marks were used as a source of identification in times of war or migration. There are different styles for different tribes; for instance...

The Sweet Hour of Muse By Morayo Oshodi

Wide awake at midnight Then a voice in the wind Harsh but true said  They think I'd just give up When I'm almost at the end of the tunnel I lay down and slept  but my subconscious  ranted away... Could this be convention? This smell as rot fish  Filling the atmosphere. Alas that I may be choked up in it? When there are waters That haven’t been stirred not to mention rippled. It takes a little time To cock a gun and shoot. Risk is what makes life beautiful Don’t you think so? The confidence that matches up to it tells you you aren't far from your goal. A fearful mind will only bring aches and pain, trouble and distress but a heart that dreads mediocrity is free to explore even the uncultivated land of life When I sleep it's only for a few hours  Not that I suffer insomnia It's because there's a new dawn to wake up to
