Love Life, Love the Lyrics II: Please Don’t Hate the Game! By Morayo Oshodi

Hey! Don’t be in a hurry to chicken out of this place; I'm not here to bore you with the concept of Game theory. Last time we read a story about Anne and by now I know some of you must be empathic about Anne, and some of you be like serves her right – Yeah yeah, she’s alright she’ll grow up some day and become a preacher's wife (Don’t quote me). Today is all about Anjola, who hates the game – the society we find ourselves *sighs* I still can’t understand why she does, maybe you can explain after reading through.

Anjola joined the company two years ago hoping to find love, the kind of love Savage Garden sang about in I Knew I’d Love You. Anjola just got out of her fourth relationship with the Prince having dated Kenny, Fifi, and Lolu. All of which lasted a period of not more than four months - the Prince actually lasted 5 months and 3 days. Lol! I know the mathematicians are trying to calculate this now, good luck on that. But Anjola really wanted to love one person but love was just a big illusion to her and she always walked out of every relationship listening to Michael learns to Rock’s That’s Why You Go Away.

Don’t hate this game yet because Jude is next in line, he has been trying to get Anjola’s attention for a couple of weeks . He's been trying hard to impress her, always coming to check her every day and having lunch with her every other day. He’s starting to put a smile on her face with the romantic cards, cakes and flowers – “he seems different from the rest” One day she told herself comparing him with the rest - Kenny, Fifi, and Lolu. Kenny was a typical African man who thinks of her as one of the numerous girls he possesses, Kenny was charming but he didn't make so much time for her. She made the first move on Fifi but her love wasn't enough to fuel the relationship - it had to be mutual unfortunately it crashed badly. Her relationship with Lolu was a joke she hoped will turn out to be real someday and in her head Niyola’s Toh Bad played. The Prince seemed like the real deal not until he showed his ass! (ops!!! that didn't come out right sorry about that) She just could not be all in one for him; he was never satisfied – he’d show off a thousand ladies on his DP except her.

Was Jude here to stay or he’s just like the others? Anjola was scared to take another risk of getting into a relationship that wouldn't last. “What if they were just tossing me around? What if they were taking turns on me?” She thought.

What’s your take on this? Should she take another risk of dating someone in the same coy? If it doesn't work out this would be the fifth relationship in the space of two to three years that didn't work, or was this her Last Bus Stop? What if it was one of those games that men played as per Scam Alert!!! or April fool!!! Please share your thoughts or a song that relates. Anjola would love to read from you soonest.

The Sweet Hour of Muse By Morayo Oshodi

Wide awake at midnight Then a voice in the wind Harsh but true said  They think I'd just give up When I'm almost at the end of the tunnel I lay down and slept  but my subconscious  ranted away... Could this be convention? This smell as rot fish  Filling the atmosphere. Alas that I may be choked up in it? When there are waters That haven’t been stirred not to mention rippled. It takes a little time To cock a gun and shoot. Risk is what makes life beautiful Don’t you think so? The confidence that matches up to it tells you you aren't far from your goal. A fearful mind will only bring aches and pain, trouble and distress but a heart that dreads mediocrity is free to explore even the uncultivated land of life When I sleep it's only for a few hours  Not that I suffer insomnia It's because there's a new dawn to wake up to

When The Flood Storms By Morayo Oshodi

It all started with a drizzling Some others considered it a trickling Until the buckets got filled from leaking Pregnant and swollen the ceiling So the waters broke, toh toh toh  Was the sound of a leaking ceiling. A rhythm worth freestyling. They say make hay while the sun shines. But none while the clouds gather It's been 7 days and your beaming self hasn't shown up instead you had your cousin blow the hay away. Its been 7 days..... Slow and steady drip, drop, top. The flood sneaked in without a storm. So you got caught up? in 7 hours of traffic? So you didn't drown? You could wade in the waters. Swimming was the highlights. And then Kayaking Oyinbo man. Free movie ticket and popcorn? Perhaps for Isoken . Will flooded cinemas go.
